Travel Guide

Travel ready before you take off

Passport, visa, airport, baggage, hotels and safety — practical checks for trips booked on ProfileBooking. Always confirm official rules close to departure.

Entry, visa and health rules can change. Use this page as a checklist, then verify with the airline, hotel and the destination government site. ProfileBooking cannot guarantee boarding or immigration clearance.

Passport & documents

Keep identity and booking proofs together. Airlines, hotels and immigration can ask for the same set of papers at different points of the trip.

Checklist

  • Passport with at least six months validity beyond your return date for most international trips
  • Printed or offline copies of tickets, hotel vouchers and the ProfileBooking booking reference
  • Government photo ID that matches the name on the ticket (Aadhaar, PAN or driving licence for domestic India flights)
  • Visa or e-visa printout and any invitation, hotel or onward-ticket letter the destination asks for
  • Vaccination or health certificates only if the destination currently requires them

Name must match the ticket

Book flights and hotels with the same spelling as your passport. A middle-name mismatch can stop check-in. Change the passenger name from My Bookings or write to support before you travel.

Keep a backup, not only the original

Photograph the passport biodata page and store it in email. Do not send passport scans through the public contact form — upload them only inside a visa application.

Visa & entry

A ticket is not permission to enter. Visa type, stay length and purpose must match what you told the embassy or e-visa portal.

Checklist

  • Confirm visa type (tourist, business, student) against your actual plan
  • Check remaining blank pages and passport validity before you apply
  • Carry return or onward tickets and hotel proof — many counters ask for them
  • Read the latest entry note on the destination government site the week you fly
  • Track ProfileBooking visa cases under Visa Applications after you sign in

Start from the Visa tab

Search country and purpose on the homepage, then upload documents in the application wizard. Our team flags missing files there instead of over email.

Rules change without notice

Immigration updates on the homepage point here. Always re-check official embassy or Bureau of Immigration advice close to departure. ProfileBooking cannot override a refused entry.

Airport & flights

Arrive early, keep liquids and electronics ready, and follow the airline’s web check-in window printed on your ticket.

Checklist

  • Domestic India: reach the airport about 2 hours before departure; international: 3 hours is safer
  • Complete web check-in when the airline opens it and save the boarding pass offline
  • Keep liquids in a clear bag under 100 ml each for international security
  • Power banks belong in cabin baggage — most airlines do not allow them in checked bags
  • Reconfirm the terminal and last boarding time the night before

Where your ticket lives

After payment, the PNR and e-ticket appear under My Bookings when you are signed in. Use that reference with the airline or with support if a flight is delayed or cancelled.

Direct vs connecting

Minimum connection times are airline-specific. If you booked separate tickets, you are responsible for the second check-in. Prefer a single booking when the layover is tight.

Baggage

Allowance is set by the fare, not by ProfileBooking. Read the baggage line on the ticket before you pack.

Checklist

  • Weigh bags at home — overweight fees at the counter are usually higher than buying extra kilos online
  • Lock checked bags and keep medicines, chargers and valuables in the cabin bag
  • Lithium batteries, perfume over the limit, and tools can be held or discarded at security
  • Label bags inside and out with your mobile number including country code
  • Photograph the bag and tag if you need to file a delayed-baggage report

Lost or delayed bags

File a Property Irregularity Report with the airline before you leave the arrivals hall. Then email support@profilebooking.com with the PNR, PIR number and photos so we can follow up with the carrier.

Hotels & stays

Hotels usually need a passport or government ID at the desk, plus the voucher from your booking confirmation.

Checklist

  • Save the hotel voucher and booking reference offline
  • Carry the same ID used on the reservation — many city hotels in India ask for a local ID plus a passport for foreign guests
  • Note check-in and check-out times; early check-in is not guaranteed
  • Read cancellation and pay-at-hotel terms on the voucher before you travel
  • Ask the desk for the emergency exit map when you reach the room

Change or cancel a stay

Open My Bookings and use cancel or modify where the property allows it. Free-cancellation windows close at a local time shown on the voucher. Full rules are on the Cancellation Policy page.

Health & insurance

Buy cover before you fly. Pre-existing conditions and adventure sports are often excluded unless the plan says otherwise.

Checklist

  • Carry prescription medicines in original packs with a doctor’s note for international trips
  • Pack a small kit: fever tablet, ORS, bandages, any regular medication
  • Check if your destination needs yellow fever or other certificates
  • Save the insurer’s 24×7 assistance number in your phone
  • Compare plans from the Insurance tab — medical, baggage and trip delay are the usual trio

Claim faster

Keep hospital bills, boarding passes and police reports. Start the claim with the insurer first, then share the claim number with support@profilebooking.com if you bought the policy through us.

Money & connectivity

Tell your bank you are travelling. A blocked card at a foreign ATM is the most common money problem we hear.

Checklist

  • Enable international usage on debit and credit cards, and set a travel SMS alert
  • Carry a small amount of local currency for taxis and tips on arrival
  • Avoid informal money changers; use airport or bank counters
  • Download an offline map and keep a local or roaming SIM plan ready
  • Use hotel or official airport Wi-Fi before you enter banking apps

Payments on ProfileBooking

Checkout accepts Visa, Mastercard, RuPay, UPI and net banking. If an amount is deducted on a failed booking, the bank usually reverses it in a few working days — write to support with the payment reference.

Safety & emergencies

Share your itinerary with someone at home. In an emergency, local police and your embassy come first; ProfileBooking support is next for bookings and tickets.

Checklist

  • Save local emergency numbers and your embassy or consulate contact
  • Share live location with family on the first day in a new city
  • Use registered cabs or the ProfileBooking ride flow instead of unmarked cars
  • Do not hand your passport to anyone except hotel, airline or official immigration staff
  • If a flight is cancelled, stay at the airline desk until you have a written rebooking or refund path
